Ensuring that your body is actually getting the goodness out of the food you eat is important for good health and weight management. Digestion begins
in the mouth with your saliva and the mastication of the food. Make sure that you chew it properly! Most people do not chew their food anywhere near enough, making it difficult to break down and utilise in the body. The improper digestion of food can cause excess gas and bloating in the digestive tract. Always aim for 10-15 chews per mouthful. It is also a good idea not to drink 30 minutes before or after, and during your meals, as this can dilute your digestive enzymes.
